Vehicle overturned after four car collision involving fire truck

CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - Rescue crews responded to Church street Saturday morning in response to a four car accident including a fire truck that was returning from helping flood victims; one vehicle was flipped over. Church street in Conway was shut down due to the accident. 

Public Information Officer Selena Small said, the fire truck involved was from Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue; they were returning home from helping flood victims in Georgetown. Two firefighters were inside the rescue truck at the time. 

One person in the overturned vehicle was transported to the hospital with injuries, according to officials.

    Four former employees of the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office and Marlboro County Detention Center have filed lawsuits in federal court against Sheriff Charles B. Lemon alleging they were fired on the basis of race. Raymond M. Hall, Billy Wade Cheek, Ann White and Earl L. Hood all filed lawsuits on Dec. 17 and Dec. 18, 2017 alleging Sheriff Lemon, who is black, fired them because they are white shortly after he was voted sheriff in Jan. 2017.
