North Myrlte Beach, SC - As the clean up process begins, crews in North Myrtle Beach are pumping thousands of gallons of water out of area streets.
They're turning 3rd Avenue South back into a fully functioning road after flood waters made it look more like a river.
Other homeowners haven't been as fortunate to get the help they need. They've had to go out and buy pumps of their own to keep water from getting into their homes.
Some businesses are having to do the same, clearing flooded parking lots.
For much of the area, the real impact of the flood waters won't be realized until they're completely gone.
Officials in North Myrtle Beach say crews have been working all weekend, and that there is not a lot they can do until more of the flooded areas subside and they can assess what damage, if any, has occurred.
