Horry/Florence schools closing, delayed Tuesday

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Several schools are reported closed or delayed for Tuesday, October 6 due to weather.

  • Carolina Academy in Lake City is closed Tuesday.
  • Central United Methodist Church Preschool in Florence will be closed Tuesday.
  • Coastal Carolina University classes will start at 10:50 am on Tuesday, Oct. 6. Check email and coastal.edu. for details.
  • Darlington County Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay on Tuesday.
  • Florence Christian School will be closed on Tuesday.
  • Florence-Darlington Technical College will be closed on Tuesday, this includes all faculty, students and staff, and evening classes. 
  • Florence Family YMCA full-day Preschool Program and Full Day Afterschool Program will be open Tuesday.
  • Florence School District One will be closed on Tuesday; all maintenance, custodial, school and district level administrators will work.
  • Florence County School District Two will be closed on Tuesday; this includes all schools, offices, school programs and athletic events. 
  • Florence School District Three will be closed on Tuesday for students and teachers; district office staff, school-level-administrators, custodians and maintenance staff ONLY are to report at 9 a.m.
  • Florence County School District Five will be closed on Tuesday, October 6, 2015.  
  • Francis Marion University will be closed on Tuesday.
  • Georgetown County School District closed Tuesday; all 240-day employees are to report to work as safety and conditions allow.
  • Golf Academy of America in Myrtle Beach is closed Tuesday.  All classes are cancelled.  Staff is to report to work as soon as they can. 
  • Grace Christian School in Loris will be closed Tuesday.
  • Horry County Schools will be closed on Tuesday, October 6. All 12-month employees are asked to report to work, as conditions allow.
  • Horry-Georgetown Technical College will open at 10 a.m. on Tuesday; classes beginning at 9:30 a.m. will start at 10 a.m.
  • Maranatha Christian School and Child Care will be closed Tuesday.
  • Marion County School District will close all schools for students only on Tuesday, October 6.  All employees will be given a 2-hour delay but are expected to report to work.
  • Marlboro County School District will operate on a 2-hour delay.  All students and staff should report to school 2 hours later than normal.  There will be no classes for 4-year-old kindergarten.  
  • St. Michael Catholic School in Murrells Inlet will be closed on Tuesday, October 6th.
  • The Kings Academy will be closed Tuesday.
  • Trinity-Byrnes Collegiate School will be closed on Tuesday.
  • Virginia College will be closed for students and staff on Tuesday.
  • Williamsburg Technical College in Kingstree will be closed Tuesday, Oct. 6.
