MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Water is receding in some areas, but the pain is only beginning for some folks as they start to clean up.
Katrina Helmer spoke to some people, their homes and business are perfectly dry, but right here in the Sandridge neighborhood, it's a completely different story. That's because Friday night once the rain filled up the drainage ditch over here, it rushed across the street and came crashing down on this home in massive waves, and as you can see, completely exposing the front of this home. The ground is completely saturated, so if this could happen to your home, it could happen to any road.
If you see something like a sinkhole, stop and call your local authorities.
SCDOT needs to know so they can take proper action to block a road or reinforce with more dirt.
As this next round of storms could be potentially life threatening and historic by the national weather service, everyone needs to take precaution.
