CONWAY – In its 13th season of existence, the Coastal Carolina football team recorded its 100th win as a program as the #1/2 Chanticleers – thanks to three touchdowns and 100 rushing yards in the first half only by De’Angelo Henderson – claimed a 55-0 Homecoming victory versus Alabama A&M Saturday afternoon.

Coastal Carolina has now played 149 games and owns a 100-49 record (.671).
Saturday’s shutout is Coastal’s first since the Chanticleers defeated Chawon 51-0 on Oct. 13, 2007. Overall, the Coastal defense allowed Alabama A&M to gain just 311 yards of total offense, while the Chanticleer offense racked up 547 yards of its own.
Over half of Coastal’s yardage came on the ground, thanks to the 102 yards and one rushing touchdown from Henderson. Osharmar Abercrombie added 80 yards on 16 carries, while Isaac Martin tallied 70 yards on 10 totes.
Henderson’s other pair of scores came through the air as the back caught four passes for 44 yards to bring his total yardage on the day to 146. Bruce Mapp led all receivers with 79 yards on four receptions to average 19.8 yards per catch. Mapp’s longest reception of the day came on a 36-yard pass from Michael Church that gave the junior his fourth touchdown catch of the season. Tyrell Blanks (five catches, 73 yards) and Frankie Richardson (two catches, 19 yards) also tallied touchdown receptions.
Alex Ross completed 15 of 22 passing attempts for 153 yards, and added four touchdowns to tie Coastal’s second-leading single-game mark. Church entered the game in the second half, finishing 5-7 with 93 yards and a TD. Josh Stilley, who closed the game at quarterback, attempted two passes, completing one for four yards.
The Chanticleers close their four-game home stand next Saturday as Coastal opens Big South play against Presbyterian. Kickoff at Brooks Stadium is set for 2 p.m.
