HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Horry County Fire Rescue wants to remind the public to not be out driving around in search of weather related issues.

Battalion Chief Brian VanAernem says HCFR crews have already rescued several drivers from vehicles that were caught in flooded areas.

If you cannot get out your home and are worried contact 911 and someone will be sent to assist you, per a release from HCFR.

Chief VanAernem says your safety is their first priority and to please remember that moving water can easily overtake any vehicle; this could be a very dangerous mistake for anyone.

HCFR currently has a command area set up at Little River Fire Station on Baker St.
