Police: 3 arrested after shooting, police chase in Conway Thursday

CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - Three suspects were arrested Thursday after a reported shooting and vehicle chase in Conway, according to a news release from Conway Police.

At about 3:28 a.m. Thursday, police responded to Powell Street in Conway in reference to a report of a victim being shot at from another vehicle, the release states. Officers found the vehicle and tried to initiate a traffic stop, but the vehicle wouldn’t stop and attempted to flee.

During the pursuit, one suspect jumped from the vehicle near Smith Street and 5th Avenue, and was arrested. The vehicle continued to 9th Avenue and Top Alley, where two other suspects left the vehicle and tried to flee on foot, the release states. One suspect was arrested, and a third suspect fled the scene, but was found and arrested later in the day.

Officers recovered a weapon and drugs during the investigation.

According to Conway Police, the following suspects were arrested and charged:

Bruce Altenburger, 26, of Conway – charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, resisting arrest, failure to stop for blue lights and siren, possession of cocaine and schedule II narcotic.

Elijah Felder II, 21, of Conway - charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, resisting arrest, possession of cocaine and schedule II narcotic.

This is the subject arrested later in the day:

Dishan Baker, 24, of Conway - charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, resisting arrest, possession of cocaine and schedule II narcotic.

    The Conway Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating two people who allegedly abandoned their children at a Conway business on June 5. Kiwa Johnathan Davis, 51, of Conway, and Sarah Mae Smith, 36, of Myrtle Beach, are wanted for unlawful neglect of a child.
