RED SPRINGS, NC (WMBF) – The bodies of two people were found after a single-wide mobile home fire in Red Springs was extinguished on Thursday, September 24, according to the Robeson County Sheriff's Office.
Charles Daniel Sampson, 35, and Rhonda Jacobs Anderson, 50, both of Lewis McNeill Road, were found inside the mobile home on Lewis McNeill Road, according to a news release from Major Anthony Thompson.
After a passing motorist saw the flames and called 911, authorities responded to the report of a structure fire with persons entrapped at about 12:47 a.m. on Thursday, September 24, according to the release. Law enforcement arrived to find the mobile home engulfed in flames. The mobile home was completely destroyed by fire.
Once the fire was extinguished, the bodies of Sampson and Anderson were found inside.
The cause of the fire and the deaths are under investigation, and no further details are available. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at 910-671-3100.
