Coastal flooding and rip currents tonight

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) Another round of coastal flooding is forecast for tonight as we see the approach of high tide. High tide comes up in the following areas as follows:
Myrtle Beach - 7:32PM
Murrells Inlet - 7:48 PM
North Myrtle Beach - 7:36 PM

Those areas susceptible to coastal flooding should stay aware as high tide approaches. Tonight's high tides are expected to be higher than the past couple of days causing more issues and higher water levels. Remember, turn around don't drown. Even if you can see down through the water to the lines on the road it is not advised to drive through covered roads. There could be floating debris or other materials that could damage your vehicle. Also, salt water is extremely damaging to a car especially if gets near the engine or enters the tailpipe.

We are also tracking showers and heavy downpours that could add to the flood level this evening.

We have a high rip current risk through this evening as well. Please be advised if entering the water to go no further than one foot deep. Rip currents can be very stronger and take the strongest of swimmers out into the ocean.
