Restaurant Scorecard: Drain flies seen in employee restroom at Myrtle Beach sandwich shop

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - It's Friday night and while it may be raining outside, you can still eat good food at your favorite local restaurant. But before you do, here's how some eateries did when the department of health came to visit.

At the Great Steak and Potato in Myrtle Beach-- inspectors gave a score of 84, a “B.” Some infractions include: hands not cleaned and properly washed, correct thawing methods were not being used, the wiping cloths were not properly used and stored, and Food-contact surfaces were not cleaned and sanitized.

The Fudgery at the Tanger Outlets on Kings Road got an 88. Inspectors noted that a hand sink was not operational, no soap was provided at the hand sink, some pans were being stored dirty, residential pesticides were seen in the facility, and drain flies were seen in the employee restroom.

Admiral's Room on North Ocean Boulevard and Bombay at the Beach on North Kings Highway both got 89 scores from DHEC inspectors.

Grilled Cheese and Crab Cake Company in Garden City got a 97 and Shiver Me Pinchers on South Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach got a 99.

    The Dillon County Sheriff’s Office is on scene of a fatal shooting on Germantown Place, according to Captain Cliff Arnette. Details are limited at this point in the investigation, but Arnette confirms one fatality. The shooting happened Saturday afternoon, and the investigation is ongoing.
