Safely dispose of prescription drugs on Drug Take-Back Day Saturday

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) –The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will hold its National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, on September 26, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

The event is to allow people to turn in unused, unwanted or expired medication for safe and anonymous disposal. This is the DEA’s tenth National Drug Take-Back Day in the past five years.

The DEA will only accept pills and other solids. Liquids or needles will not be accepted.

Below is information on collection sites in the Grand Strand and Pee Dee areas.

HORRY COUNTY

  • Walgreen’s, located at 1601 Church Street in Conway.
  • Staples Parking Lot, located at 244 Highway 17 North in North Myrtle Beach.

GEORGETOWN COUNTY

  • Midway Fire and Rescue, located at 67 St. Paul’s Place in Pawleys Island.

MARION COUNTY

  • Marion Police Department, located at 1024 South Main Street in Marion.
