North Carolina man faces attempted murder charges in connection to Highway 9 shooting in Dillon County

DILLON COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A North Carolina man has been arrested in connection to the shooting of a 57-year-old man that occurred on Wednesday night, September 23 on Highway 9 near Little Rock Avenue in Dillon County, according to the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office.

Quinton Laprix Davis, age 33, formerly of Dillon, is charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a felony and discharging a firearm into a dwelling, according to a news release from the DCSO.

Captain Cliff Arnette said the incident occurred between 11:30-11:45 p.m.

Deputies were dispatched to the area in the Little Rock community regarding a person being shot. 

The male victim located at the scene was shot while driving a sedan.

On September 24, Captain Arnette said he was transported to the hospital, where he remained that afternoon.

Davis is currently being held at the Dillon County Detention Center.
