MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A traffic accident involving an Horry County Police vehicle on SC-31 northbound, one mile north of Robert M. Grissom Parkway closed the right two lanes Thursday morning, according to the SCDOT.
The accident occurred at about 8:50 a.m. and did not involve injures, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. An Horry County Police vehicle was seen crashed in the median by a WMBF News photographer. It was originally reported by SCHP that the accident did involve injuries.
Corporal Sonny Collins with SCHP said that the driver of the HCPD vehicle swerved to avoid a vehicle that changed lanes, then spun out and into the median.
The accident was cleared and the lanes were reopened by 10:30 a.m., SCDOT stated.
