DILLON, S.C. (WMBF) - Dillon quarterback Avery McCall will head toward the beach to play his college ball. This comes after McCall tweeted on Tuesday and later confirmed to WMBF News that he will be going to Coastal Carolina University after he graduates this year. He plans to sign his letter of intent on National Signing Day in February.
McCall was one of the more sought after quarterbacks in the southeast region. His list of offers included Old Dominion, North Carolina State, South Carolina and Tennessee among others. Interest first began with McCall after his freshman year, when he quarterbacked Dillon to a state championship. He then took the Wildcats to state crowns each of the last two seasons, including going a perfect 14-0 last year.
Under McCall's leadership, Dillon now has a 27-game winning streak - the longest in the entier Palmetto State. The Wildcats will put that to the test on Friday when hosting Marlboro County. Highlights of that game and more will be on Extra Point on WMBF.
