WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A Kingstree man was arrested on Wednesday by deputies with the Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office after barricading himself inside his residence following an assault, according to the Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.

Nick Tyrone McFadden, age 51, of Hodges Road, is charged with third degree assault and battery, the Facebook page states.

On September 23, deputies responded to Hodges Road in Kingstree regarding a verbal dispute between a male and female.

The female victim advised deputies that an assault had taken place and verbal threats were made.

Deputies made contact with McFadden a short time later at his residence on Hodges Road and advised him to stay on his porch, the Facebook page states.

McFadden eluded deputies by going inside his home and locking himself inside. He then barricaded himself inside and would not come out.

The Facebook page states deputies were able to make entry into the home and took McFadden into custody without incident.

He was transported to the Williamsburg County Detention Center.

McFadden will appear before a Williamsburg County Magistrate for an explanation of the charge, according to the Facebook page.

He is awaiting a bond hearing at the WCDC.

We'll make it to the 90s again at the beach and the middle 90s inland. With temperatures a degree or two cooler than the last several days, no heat advisories are in effect, but the heat index will still climb to between 100 and 104. The afternoon and evening will see just a 30 percent chance of a stray shower or storm.
