DARLINGTON COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A Hartsville man was arrested Tuesday in connection to a burglary that occurred overnight on Sunday at a residence off Swift Creek Road in Hartsville.
Zavius Tamel-Quashane Rogers, age 23, is charged with first degree burglary, according to the Darlington County Detention Center website.
An officer with the Hartsville Police Department was dispatched to the home on Monday morning around 8:20 a.m. regarding a break-in, according to a police report from the HPD.
The victim told the officer she went to sleep around 11 p.m. and when she woke up she discovered her child's room had been broken into through the window, the police report states.
According to the police report, the victim said her children were in her room at the time of the incident; she stated that she woke up once because one of the children was crying but she never heard the house being broken into.
A 32 inch TV and two pairs of children's tennis shoes valued at $315 were missing from the house, the report states.
The police report shows that a cement rock was used to force entry.
Rogers is currently being held at the DCDC.
