Marion Police: Two men wanted after man shot in the leg

MARION, SC (WMBF) – Police have identified two suspects after a man was shot in the leg on McMillan Street in Marion Monday, September 21.

The shooting occurred at about 6:10 p.m. in the 400 block of McMillan Street, according to Captain Robert C. Smith with the Marion Police Department.

It began as a physical altercation started because one man had a dispute with the victim, Captain Smith said. A man who was with the victim pulled out a gun and started shooting. That’s when the other man returned fire, striking the victim in the leg.

Warrants have been issued for both men who fired shots, Captain Smith said, and police were looking for them.

According to Chief Tennie, Jonathan Grant and Keith Charles are wanted in connection the shooting. Both are wanted for discharging a firearm in the city and presenting a firearm at a person.
