NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Inclement weather will cause eastbound lanes to remain closed on Robert Edge Parkway through the late evening of Tuesday, October 6. The contractor will then reopen only the left lane to normal traffic, according to a news release from the City of North Myrtle Beach.
Both eastbound lanes will open to normal traffic on the evening of Friday, October 9, after the concrete road patch installed in the right lane has properly cured and sealed.
Currently, the westbound lanes are open to normal traffic.
The bridge approach slab on the west side of the Intracoastal Waterway is where the repairs are being made; this is the shift between the roadway and the J. Bryan Floyd Bridge.
The repairs include fixing the approach slabs, replacing the damaged roadway concrete, replacing and upgrading the expansion joint seals and replacing the damage slope guard, the release states.
SC Highway 31 or Carolina Bays Parkway, SC Highway 9 and US Highway 17 are the posted detours for the construction.
This schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions.
