NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A 17-year-old has been arrested and charged with arson in connection with a structure fire on Seagull Boulevard in North Myrtle Beach last month.

Tanisha Lorraine Bryant, 17, was arrested and charged with arson in the third degree for the fire, North Myrtle Beach officials confirmed Friday.

North Myrtle Beach and Horry County Fire crews were on the scene of a structure fire on the morning of Monday, September 21 in the area of 1414 Seagull Blvd and contained the fire within five minutes of arrival time.

Dowling said the fire happened at Creekside Mobile Home Park.

According to Fire Chief Garry Spain, the fire was lapping out of a bedroom area side window when they arrived on scene. The home was evacuated and crews were able to remove a puppy from the home. One adult and six teenagers between the ages of 12-18 were displaced and Red Cross was called for them.

Spain says smoke damaged all the way through unit and investigation is ongoing.

We'll make it to the 90s again at the beach and the middle 90s inland. With temperatures a degree or two cooler than the last several days, no heat advisories are in effect, but the heat index will still climb to between 100 and 104. The afternoon and evening will see just a 30 percent chance of a stray shower or storm.
