Hartsville man charged in connection to armed robbery

DARLINGTON COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A Hartsville man was arrested Thursday in connection to an armed robbery that occurred at a residence on Tuskeegee Street in August, according to a police report from Hartsville Police Department.

Ezekiel Frequel Stevenson, age 17, is charged with armed robbery with a deadly weapon, first degree burglary and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, according to the Darlington County Detention Center website.

Police responded to the residence on August 19 where a subject forcibly entered a home with a shotgun and demanded money from the occupants, according to Russell Cox, City of Hartsville Public Information Officer.

After investigations, Hartsville Police made the listed charges against Stevenson, who is being charged as an adult, Cox stated.

The police report states that $90 was stolen.

No bond has been set for his charges, according to the DCDC website.

Stevenson is currently at the Darlington County Detention Center.
