CONWAY, SC (WMBF) – A 36-year-old Myrtle Beach woman was arrested for DUI and driving under suspension after crashing into an ambulance outside the Conway Medical Center Wednesday morning, according to a Conway Police report.
At about 9:35 a.m., a Conway Police officer responded to Cyprus Circle, where an ambulance driver explained that while driving towards Singleton Ridge Road, a vehicle in the opposite lane hit the ambulance on the driver's side, and the driver did not stop, the report states.
The driver, later identified as Terri Plummer, continued to a parking spot, and went into the hospital. A hospital security guard found her and brought her outside, the report states. The Conway Police officer spoke to her, and pointed out the damage to her vehicle where she struck the ambulance.
The officer then conducted several field sobriety tests, and the officer observed several clues indicating that Plummer was under the influence, the report states.
Plummer was taken to Horry County Detention Center, where she gave a breath sample that registered 0.0 percent blood-alcohol content, according to the report. She was taken to the Conway ER, where she provided a urine sample to test for the presence of drugs.
A check of Plummer's driver's license showed her license was suspended with no other charges.
Plummer has been charged with DUI and driving under suspension, according to Conway Municipal Court records.
