MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A 20-year-old Tennessee man will begin his cross country trek to Los Angeles on Friday morning at 6 a.m. at the pier at Myrtle Beach State Park to support our nation’s military veterans.

Donnie Douglas is the founder of a nonprofit organization called Share Your Legacy.

The organization is meant to bring our nation’s youth and veterans together to honor those who have sacrificed.

Douglas is only travelling with a backpack, a hammock and a walking stick that has an American flag attached to it.

Even though he plans to mainly camp outside, he also hopes to spend some nights at churches or other places in the towns he passes through.
