Final filming day for Flip My Food with the Beaver Family Restaurants

MURRELS INLET, SC (WMBF) - Chef Jeff and the Flip My Food crew spent their last day in the Myrtle Beach area with a trip to Murrells Inlet.

The filming started at Driftwoods Steak and Seafood, cooking up seafood specialties.

The name, Driftwoods, goes with the beachy theme of the restaurant, and it fits perfectly with its location, Murrells Inlet.

Don't let it fool you though, Driftwoods serves more than seafood, the menu includes steak, chicken, ribs, plenty of choices for kids and of course, dessert.

"We try to offer the customer great value, without sacrificing the quality you would get from other area restaurants,” owner Charles Beaver said.

When it comes to the fan favorite, Beaver says most people order the old-fashioned fried fish.

“Chef Jeff is gonna do a skirt steak with a mushroom sauce averde which is an excellent dish, we’ve actually never offered it on the menu, so we’re looking forward to seeing what he has to offer and bring to the table, and hopefully we’ll add it to the menu here in the near future,” Beaver said.

Chef Jeff also cooked Mahi, as well as shrimp and grits.

Does the name Beaver sound familiar?  That's because it’s the same name and family of the well-known Beaver Bar.

Beaver Bar is a completely different atmosphere than Driftwoods, and it offers up a different menu.

"It’s our bar food that actually threw us into the restaurant business because our bar food is so good,” owner Leslye Beaver said. “We went from just being the Beaver Bar to being the Beaver Bar Restaurant Bar and Grille."

Beaver says Having Flip My Food get a taste of Beaver Bar can only help.

"We went to Daytona 2012, Sturgess 2014 and we're opening Panama City Beach in 2016,” she said. “Nationally we're kind of out there, as far as the microbar industry, but it’s really fun to get this kind of exposure because we're so much more."

Although that's a wrap for Flip My Food here in Myrtle Beach, they'll be back, only on your TV. The plan is to have the episodes air the beginning of next year and you can find them only on WMBF News, weekdays, at 11 a.m.
