Below is a news release from the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce:

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (NEWS RELEASE) – Radha Herring has been elected as the next chairman for the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce’s (MBACC) board of directors. She will hold the title of chairman-elect before assuming the new role on Jan. 1, 2016.

This annual election by the board of directors took place at their Sept. 15 meeting.

“The confidence the board has entrusted in me is extremely humbling, and I will serve as the next chairman of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce with enthusiasm and passion,” Herring said. “The chamber’s strong relationship with the local business community cannot be overstated.  I look forward to working closely with them and working to promote the entire Myrtle Beach area to our residents and our more than 17 million visitors.”

Herring will take over the leadership position from Jim Creel, Jr., who has served as the 2015 MBACC board chairman.

“It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as chairman this year, and I know great things will continue under Radha’s leadership,” said Creel. “The Myrtle Beach area is blessed to have such a dedicated and hard-working board of directors, volunteers, and staff, working tirelessly to promote both the business community and the destination.”

Herring currently works at Watermark Real Estate Group, and has served as a member of the MBACC board of directors for several years.
