A new plan was announced to help redevelopment in the south end of Myrtle Beach, an area that has struggled for years.
The city will offer incentives to developers that will give them money back, up to $2 million on their projects.
This is the kind of thinking and leadership that benefits the entire community.
If focuses on an area that needs to be cleaned up and invites new businesses to invest in our area…bringing in more tourists and creating more jobs.
As locals we know the problems in that area. Many tourists experience it too and it leaves a bad impression.
This plan will could really help change the reputation Myrtle Beach unfairly gets. And I hope it takes a major leap forward at the city council meeting next week.
