NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Crews have extinguished a kitchen fire at the Blockade Runner hotel in North Myrtle Beach, according to Garry Spain, North Myrtle Beach Fire Chief.

Ocean Boulevard and Spring Street from 21st Avenue North to Shore Haven Drive are back open after being closed due to the fire, according to Pat Dowling, Public Information Officer for the City of North Myrtle Beach.

Chief Spain says the kitchen fire was contained to a single room.

The building was evacuated at 1:55 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, according to Chief Spain.
