MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – An officer with the Myrtle Beach Police Department, who saved the life of a Myrtle Beach Fire Department volunteer exactly one year ago, met the volunteer for the first time on Monday, according to the MBPD Facebook page.
Officer Mann was attending the open house at Fire Station 6 last year when one of the volunteers, Mario, passed out and stopped breathing.
The Facebook post states that Officer Mann caught Mario before he hit the ground and immediately started providing advanced life support care alongside the Myrtle Beach Firefighters.
Mario regained consciousness before he was put into the ambulance; Mario's life was saved as a result of Officer Mann's and the firefighters' quick reactions.
According to the MBPD Facebook post, Mario is doing well and wanted to personally show his appreciation to Officer Mann for his lifesaving assistance.
