AYNOR, SC (WMBF) - September 14 through September 17, Horry County will begin mosquito spraying in the Aynor area. Ground spraying operations will run from 7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. and aerial spraying will be conducted from 7:00 p.m. until dusk. All operations will run Monday through Thursday.
According to a press release sent to us by Horry County Government, the chemicals used for mosquito control spraying are EPA approved and pose minimal risk to both humans and animals. It is advised that individuals with asthma or other respiratory illness may wish to remain indoors with both windows and doors closed during the spraying, according to the release. The release also suggests, homegrown fruits and vegetables be washed, scrubbed or peeled prior to eating.
In an effort to keep the honeybee population safe, beekeepers are asked to call 843-381-8000 to identify the location of their colonies.
