ROBESON, NC (WMBF) – A Rowland woman was arrested Friday at 11:30 a.m. in connection to the murder of her ex-husband, Jessie James Locklear.
Jennie Lynn Locklear is charged with first degree murder, larceny of a firearm and possession of a stolen firearm, according to Major Anthony Thompson of the Robeson County Sheriff's Office.
The Robeson County Sheriff's Office responded to Jennie Road Rowland in reference to a woman who shot her ex-husband to death Sunday, September 13, while he was feeding his animals.
When authorities arrived on the scene they found that 55-year-old Jessie James Locklear had been shot. Authorities say Locklear died before being transported to the hospital.
According to the RCSO, Locklear had gone to the residence to feed his animals when he was shot by his ex-wife. The two had the same address, however they did not live together, reports say.
An autopsy was conducted at the medical examiner's office in Raleigh.
Locklear is currently being held at the Robeson County Detention Center under no bond.
