Board Committees to discuss strategies in Conway

CONWAY, SC (WMBF) – Board Committees will meet this week in Conway to discuss several strategies, updates, and financial discussions. The Waccamaw Regional Transportation Authority, The Coast RTA Fund Development Committee, Communications & Public Affairs Committee and Finance Committee will meet Wednesday. 

The discussions will take place Wednesday, September 16, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in the conference room located at 1418 Third Avenue, Conway to discuss the following:

  • 9-9:45 a.m., Fund Development Committee will discuss transportation summit, funding source screening, strategies moving forward.
  • 10-10:45 a.m., Communications & Public Affairs Committee will discuss survey update, complaints review, website update.
  • 11-1 p.m., Finance committee will discuss July close, August close, financial update/discussion, FMO update, CFO search update, and grants update, according to a news release from the Waccamaw Regional Transportation Authority.

    The fifth and final suspect wanted in connection with the Christmas Eve murder of a Lake City man was taken into custody in Columbus, Ohio on January 12. Justin Marquise Pringle, 21, was charged with four other men in the murder of 74-year-old Johnny Cameron on December 24, 2017 at the victim’s home on Old Georgetown Road in Lake City, according to a news release from the Florence County Sheriff's Office.

    An Horry County firefighter living in Conway was arrested Wednesday and charged with sexual battery with a student, according to jail records and other sources. Matthew James Oswald, 31, from Conway, was arrested by Horry County police at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday and charged with sexual battery with a student. As of Thursday morning, he remained incarcerated at J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
