HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol has reported a fatal accident that took place Saturday at 6019 US 701 S. at Browns Chapel Road in Conway involving a vehicle that struck three motorcycles.

According to Deputy Coroner Michelle McSpadden, 49-year-old Jerry David Jackson, Jr. from Dunn NC, died at the scene due to injuries sustained in the collision.

SCHP said the 4 vehicle collision happened around 2 p.m., Jackson was driving a 2004 Harley motorcycle traveling North on 701 along with two other motorcycle drivers, a Saturn then pulled out of a private drive onto US 701 and struck two of the motorcycles, then struck the other motorcycle resulting in the fatality.

McSpadden said the SCHP is investigating.

According to Heather with the Dunn Fire Department, Jackson has children and was a volunteer captain of EMS. He was also a very proud firefighter and paramedic.

Greg Frank posted on the Dunn Fire Department Facebook Saturday, " Sorry to hear about the loss of another brother. Jerry was a dedicated man who always had a smile on his face. I remember when Jerry started at Dunn, he was eager to learn everyhing he could, never turned down a challenge, and was a dedicated volunteer. I know you guys will miss him greatly. If theres anything we in WNC can do, dont hesitate to give us a shout. Rest easy Jerry, we'll take point."

Jackson has worked with the department since April of 2009.
