Man charged for murder after shooting in Lumberton, officials confirm

LUMBERTON, NC (WMBF) – One man has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder after allegedly shooting and killing a man after an altercation in Lumberton Thursday, according to a news release from the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office responded to the 1400 block of Huggins Road to find Roger Lee Locklear unresponsive with a gunshot wound, according to the release.

Locklear suffered the gunshot wound after an altercation with Tony Oxendine, the release states. Oxendine was charged with first-degree murder and held at the Robeson County Detention Center with no bond.
