Darlington man turns self in for home burglary

DARLINGTON COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A Darlington man turned himself in to the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office Thursday in connection to a home burglary that occurred on September 10 off of Patrick Highway in Hartsville, according to a news release from the DCSO.

Richard Oliver Boatwright, age 24, of Carley Avenue, is charged with first degree burglary, attempted murder, grand larceny, criminal conspiracy, possession burglary tools and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, the release states.

Bond was set at $80,000 at the bond hearing held for Boatwright at 4 p.m. Thursday.

The DCSO says this is an active ongoing investigation.
