Police investigate pornography found on Carolina Forest students' cell phones

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Horry County Police are investigating after finding pornographic images on the cell phones of two Carolina Forest High School students last week, according to a police report.

On September 4, the assistant principals at Carolina Forest High School told police that pornographic images were being sent between multiple students, and two of those students still had the images on their phones.

According to the report, the two students sent at least 35 pornographic images of unknown females to each other. The students' phones were seized, and officers learned that pictures were being stored within a password-protected app.

The parents of both students were called to the school, and when officers advised them of the situation, they were very cooperative in the investigation. The parents were then advised that Horry County Police's Criminal Investigations Unit would be handling the case.

Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
