Cole Bros. Circus To The Max opens in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – The Cole Bros. Circus To The Max is in town Wednesday through Friday. The Big Top is set up at the site of the old Myrtle Beach Square Mall near the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.

Some of the fun animal acts you’ll see include Nerger’s Splendid Tigers, the Fassio Family’s Clever Canines, and of course the majestic Asian Elephants. You’ll also see high wire stunts, a quick change act, illusions, aerial ballet, motorcycle acts, a human canon ball, and clowns taking a few jabs at pop culture.

“There’s something for everybody,” says Tom Renesto, the marketing director for the Cole Bros. Circus. “It takes you back. There’s so much going on in our world today, that our tent show is 131 years old. Something for everybody. Come out and it takes you back to your childhood!”

The show is titled “To The Max” this year, because the clown named Max is trying to take over the show.

“He’s into everything,” says Renesto. “He tries to take over the show, he tried to do magic, he tries to become the ringmaster. He’s something to see! He’s a lot of fun to watch. The kids love him, the adults love to see him. It’s a lot of fun.”

Myrtle Beach is the only city this circus has returned to two years in a row. The ringmaster says the crew loves performing at the beach. The Cole Bros. Circus is hosted by the Omar Chefs Shiners.

There will be performances at 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. And the show will go on rain or shine. The circus will tear down after the last performance Friday and head to Augusta, Georgia.

There are coupons available at the Gift Addict, a store at the Myrtle Beach Mall, that will provide free tickets for children 12 years old and younger. The coupons will also provide a $5 discount for adult general admission tickets. You can buy tickets in advance at the stores or online. If you get tickets at the circus, ticket prices do go up.
