Georgetown man arrested for stealing nearly $2,000 worth of meat, police say

GEORGETOWN, SC (WMBF) – The Georgetown Police Department arrested a man Sunday, August 30 for stealing approximately $2,000 worth of meat from a restaurant where he was employed.

Management from the 700 Modern Bar and Grill noticed the lock had been cut and roughly $2,000 worth of meat was missing.

Police arrested Jerell Knox of 1233 Hampton Court after going through surveillance footage and learning that he was a worker at the restaurant.

According to the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office, Knox was charged with Grand Larceny of $2,000-$10,000, he was also charged with contempt of family court by adult offense. There is no bail set at this time.
