MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A man walking to his hotel early Sunday morning was stabbed in an alley, according to Myrtle Beach police, but got away from his attackers.

The police report says around 4:15 a.m., the victim was between some stores by Kings Highway and 8th Avenue South and walked into an alley toward his hotel. Two men, the suspects, were under a street light and asked the victim for a light. When the victim moved to light a cigarette for one of them, the other suspect grabbed him and one of them said “give it up”.

The victim told police he turned to run and felt a jab like someone punched him in the back. As he was struggling to get away, he said he saw a knife with a three-inch blade, then one of the suspects slashed his arm. The victim didn’t realize his shoulder had also been stabbed until he felt blood running down his arm as he was running away.

The victim told police he ran to an open field across the street and hind behind a pine tree. He called a friend who took him to the hospital where police were called.

One suspect is described as a black male with a beard and mustache, 30-to-35, wearing a brown hat, brown shorts and air force ones. The second suspect is described as a black male with a long goatee, low-fade haircut between 27 and 29 years old.

We'll make it to the 90s again at the beach and the middle 90s inland. With temperatures a degree or two cooler than the last several days, no heat advisories are in effect, but the heat index will still climb to between 100 and 104. The afternoon and evening will see just a 30 percent chance of a stray shower or storm.
