HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Horry County Fire Rescue crews used a tow truck to remove the car found in a pond in Carolina Forest Friday morning, according to Chief Justin Gibbins, HCFR.
Chief Gibbins says no one was located in the pond or in the car after HCFR crews performed a brief search of the pond.
HCFR received the call at about 10:30 a.m., and responded to the pond at Stoney Falls Boulevard and Carolina Forest Boulevard, according to Battalion Chief Brian VanAernem.
Dive teams and other crews were at the scene investigating the vehicle.
The incident is still under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
