Florence County Disabilities Foundation to sponsor Lake City's Largest Yard Sale

LAKE CITY, SC (WMBF) – The Florence County Disabilities Foundation will sponsor “Lake City’s Largest Yard Sale” during the South Carolina Tobacco Festival on Saturday, September 19 this month.

According to a news release from the FCDF, this will be the perfect opportunity for you to clear out any unwanted items that you might have.

Walter M. Sparrow, Director of FCDF, says this is the 21st year they have hosted the event and that every year $175,000 in proceeds goes directly to the FCD Board.

Antiques, household goods, furniture, clothing, plants, baked goods and more will be available for sale to the public, the release states.

The event will be from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the parking lot of the Pee Dee Thrift located at 219 North Church St. in Lake City.

Booth spaces for the event are available for rent; single spaces are $20 each and double spaces are $35 each.

If you are interested in renting a booth, applications can be picked up at any of the five Pee Dee Thrift Shops in Florence County, by calling the Foundation office at (843)-374-2641 or (843)-662-4021, e-mailing flodisfoundsc@yahoo.com or by visiting their new website at www.fcdfoundation.org.

    One person has died after an accident on U.S. 17 South early Saturday morning. According to Jed Jones with South Carolina Highway Patrol, a pick-up truck was traveling on U.S. 17, when it ran off the roadway, struck a guardrail and overturned around 1:55 Saturday morning. The driver, the only occupant of the vehicle, was ejected from the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.
