Celebrities to visit Myrtle Beach to benefit local girl with cancer

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - If you're still making plans this Labor Day weekend, there's a new event in town, The Fierce Fallon fundraiser, and the best part is, it's for a good cause.

Fallon Emery, a young girl from Myrtle Beach, has been battling brain cancer, and putting up one heck of a fight.

"Despite the chemotherapy, the radiation and the fight she's put on the past year and a half the cancers still growing," her mother, Melanie Emery, said.

She refuses to give up. Fallon is set to undergo surgery to remove her tumor this month, but first, to get her spirits up, the Oceanfront Merchants Association is putting on the Fierce Fallon Fundraiser.

"I've been overwhelmed since day one with the support she's gotten from the community," her mother said.

The event is free, all you have to do is head to Plyler Park Saturday between noon and 6 p.m., and show your support.

This is how it works: instead of OMA getting the money from the vendors at the event, it will go to Fallon. They'll also be selling raffle tickets, and area businesses have donated gifts for the raffle.

There will be be concerts, fireworks, and appearances from cast members of The Walking Dead, Vampire Diaries, and, of course, Fallon Emery herself. Everyone will be rallying together for one cause.

"Getting her excited and hyped up knowing the support that she has before the surgery really puts her in the mindset to go in and have this surgery," Melanie said.

Fallon's surgery is in about two weeks and the proceeds from this event will help save her life.
