DARLINGTON, SC (WMBF) – Deputies responded to an assault Friday after a woman was beaten by a stick, the suspect then tried to run over the victim with her car.
The Darlington County Sheriff's Office says, the victim was assaulted by her cousin after what witnesses say began with an argument for unknown reasons, and at some point the suspect retrieved a large stick from her vehicle and began to beat the victim with it. Reports say she was hit several times with the stick.
Reports also say, family members attempted to separate the parties, at which time the suspect threatened the victim's life.
Both parties went to their vehicles, apparently to leave the incident location. At that point the suspect rammed the victim's vehicle with her vehicle. The victim attempted to flee her vehicle and return to the residence.
The suspect then attempted, unsuccessfully, to strike the victim with her vehicle.
The suspect left the scene before the arrival of deputies, according to DCSO.
A warrant for "attempted murder" was obtained for the arrest of Evone Goodson, she surrendered to Deputies at the Sheriff's Office.
