MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Election filing period will end this week in Myrtle Beach for the November 3 municipal election.
The filing window will continue until noon, Friday September 4. Voters will choose three City Council members this fall. Council elections are nonpartisan and at-large with members serving four year terms.
The City of Myrtle Beach says, candidate packets will also be available at City Hall. Prospective candidates must file a statement of candidacy with the city clerk and a campaign disclosure form with the Ethics Commission as soon as they receive $500 toward their campaign. This can be in-kind services, contributions or their own money. The statement of economic interest must be filed prior to take the oath of office, but can be filed earlier.
