MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Cyclists, walkers, and runners gathered together on August 16 from Florida to begin a fundraiser bike ride journey to Washington Redskins FedEx field in Maryland.

The project is inspired by former pro football player Sean Michael Maurice Taylor, he died from a gunshot wound after intruders entered into his Miami home November of 2007. Taylor was 24-years-old and a free safety for the Washington Redskins.

Funds raised will provide quality programs and services that will help the lives of families and build stronger communities in Miami Florida and Washington D.C. The programs will serve the needs for the under-served population of those areas and develop safer environments.

August 26 the team posted; #Day 10 "Today we rest! We'll be back in the saddle tomorrow heading from Savannah, Ga to Buford, SC."

August 28 they posted; Day #12 Perfect weather today for riding…We should reach Charleston, SC in record time. #‎TeamSean21.

August 30 post; Day #14 Team Sean 21 had a wet and dreary start on the 101 mile ride from Charleston, SC to Myrtle Beach, SC. #‎TeamSean21 #‎Riding4ACause

Pastor David Peay says, "the group will stay in Myrtle Beach until Tuesday, he also said they ride about 5-6 hours a day and despite getting rained on from Charleston to Myrtle Beach, all in all it has been a good ride."

We'll make it to the 90s again at the beach and the middle 90s inland. With temperatures a degree or two cooler than the last several days, no heat advisories are in effect, but the heat index will still climb to between 100 and 104. The afternoon and evening will see just a 30 percent chance of a stray shower or storm.
