Boogie and BBQ festival coming labor day weekend

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Horry-Georgetown Technical College Grand Strand campus will host the 10th Annual Beach, Boogie & BBQ Festival. The boogie will have several events packed into two days.

This festival is free to attend. More than 30 barbecue teams are signed up to compete, and The Myrtle Beach Car Club show will take place on Crabtree Lane with more than 100 specialty cars.

Festivities will begin September 4 and 5, at 6 p.m. Friday, and Saturday at noon. A corn-hole competition will be held from 12-4 p.m.

The Kansas City Barbecue Society will present the competition awards at 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Friday, September 4:

6-7:30 p.m. -The Harvest

8-9:30 p.m. – The Miracle Max and the Pet Monsters

Saturday, September 5:

12-1:15 p.m. – Pocket Fuzz

1:45-3 p.m. – Carolina Midnight

5-6 p.m. – KCBS Awards Ceremony Announcments

6:30 –7:45 p.m. – Paul Grimshaw Band

8:15–9:30 p.m. – Ntranze

    A Conway lawyer has filed paperwork for a class action lawsuit against Santee Cooper and the South Carolina Public Service Authority, alleging the utility raised the rates on over 160,000 retail customers and spent over $362 million on a coal power plant from a Chinese "kit" in the Pee Dee area that remains unused.
