Free Community Appreciation Day at Carolinas Hospital System

FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) – On August 29, Carolinas Hospital System will host a free Community Appreciation Day, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the main hospital campus.

A Carolina vs. Clemson corn hole tournament will begin at 4:00 p.m. Entry is free and open to two person teams. There are 64 team slots available, but you must register in advance by calling (843) 674-5000.

Emergency vehicles, including a fire truck and helicopter, will be on display in the Kids Corner. There will also be kids first aid education sessions, face painting, coloring and bouncy houses for children to enjoy.

Local entertainment from the community will perform throughout the day, and from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., the band Taste Like Chicken will take the stage.

Local restaurants will be on site with food and beverages for purchase. Spectators and participants are urged to bring chairs.

    A man’s car was reportedly stolen at gunpoint Thursday morning following an altercation with another individual. According to a Myrtle Beach Police Department incident report, officers responded to the 900 block of White Street where they met with the 23-year-old victim.
