HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Horry County Police have arrested a man who allegedly sliced his girlfriend's neck after an argument over a beer Tuesday night, according to Lt. Raul Denis, Horry County Police Department.
At about 11 p.m., police responded to a home on Piedmont Avenue, where a 30-year-old woman told officers that her 40-year-old boyfriend, Chad Allen Chestnut got into an argument with her over the last beer, according to the police report. She say he then attacked her, threw her to the ground, and began to choke her. That's when Chestnut allegedly pulled out a knife and cut her in the neck.
The victim, who told police she is four-months pregnant, was treated at a local hospital and is recovering from her injury, but the cut was considered life-threatening, according to police.
Detectives obtained a warrant charging Chestnut with attempted murder. He is described as 40 years old, 5-feet-6-inches tall, 185 pounds in weight, with brown hair and blue eyes.
Horry County Police transported Chestnut to the Horry County Detention Center, without incident, where he will await a bond hearing.
