Florence man charged in connection to disseminating obscene material to minor

FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) – A Florence man was arrested on August 21 in connection to giving obscene materials to a minor, according to a news release from South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson.

Willis Grover, age 21, of Wildwood Drive, is charged with dissemination of obscene material to a minor 12 years or younger, according to the Florence County Detention Center website.

According to the release, Grover sent the victim a sexually explicit photo. 

The Florence County Sheriff’s Office, a member of the state’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, made the arrest.

Dissemination of obscene material to a minor 12 years or younger is a felony offense punishable by up to 15 years imprisonment, the release states.

The Attorney General’s Office will prosecute the case.
