MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – The Five Points Business Association and the City of Myrtle Beach's Downtown Redevelopment Corporation are trying to breathe new life into the Five Points area, which is considered to be one of the oldest sections of Myrtle Beach.
What was once considered the heart of downtown, is now more like a ghost town.
New small businesses are slowly starting to plant roots in the area again.
""I think first thing's first. We've got to take care of some of the things that are easy and could have a big impact. Even though they're small things, they could have a big impact on the area," DRC Executive Assistant Lauren Clever said.
Tune into WMBF News Today at 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. to see what city leaders believe will help these downtown businesses thrive and for a look at future efforts planned for the Five Points area.
