FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) – The Florence County Sheriff’s Office has designated “hot spot” areas of Florence County for high visibility traffic enforcement for the next month.

According to the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, the areas below were selected as hot spots:

  • S. Cashua and Brittany Drive area, including Willow Trace, Villa Ponticello, Golf Terrace Boulevard, Arrowhead Circle and Bryson Drive.
  • West Palmetto Street and South Parker Drive area.
  • South Irby Street area, West Conyers Avenue, East Carolyn Avenue, East Grace Drive and Toledo Scale Road.
  • Howe Springs Road, Tara Village and Oliver Drive.

The Florence County Sheriff’s Office says, based upon location-based crime and traffic crash data, residents and motorists in these areas can expect to see high visibility enforcement or traffic laws for the next several weeks with both marked and unmarked units running rear blue lights even when not on a traffic stop.

In addition, routine citizen encounters in these areas will be increased.
