MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A national all-star girls’ baseball team is taking on elite boys’ teams at the Ripken Experience 11U Sunset Classic Tournament being held this week in Myrtle Beach, according to Ripken Baseball.

The girls, who range from 11-12 years of age, are some of the nation’s top female baseball players and their team is Baseball for All.

They were selected from 13 teams that competed in America’s first-ever girls’ baseball nationals in Orlando last June.

The girls are from several different states, including South Carolina, North Carolina, California and Georgia; the boys’ teams are from New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.

The girls will be challenging the boys Monday, August 17, through Friday, August 21.
